Follows Diocesan ‘Learning and Growing’ scheme. Much closer link to Catholic Life through social justice themes

English

Core texts linked to theme are Power of Reading Books. Writing in all genres linked to CST theme.

Maths

Discrete subject teaching. Follows CPA (Concrete, Pictorial, Abstract) Mastery approach. Teaching and Learning involve fluency, reasoning and problem solving. Units planned in line with White Rose planning overviews.

Science, History, Geography, DT/Art, Computing, Music

National Curriculum Key Stage skills and objectives. Mapped in two year cycle to CST themes—example below. Knowledge organisers and two year map ensure progressive learning over time.
