Welcome to 1T’s Class Page

Good morning, I hope you are all well and keeping safe.

I have uploaded some work for the children onto their bgfl folders (the login details are stuck into your child's learning log book).  I have also included some paper with their learning logs which the children can use to complete the work.  You can either take a photo of their completed work and upload it for me to look at today or send the work in on Monday.  To get this work, you will need to log on using the details in the learning log and then click on the MyFiles folder.  The children can then go to each document and click it to open it.  There are four pieces of work: a powerpoint on capital letters and days of the week (this will need to be looked at before the children complete the worksheet on capital letters and days of the week); a worksheet on capital letters and days of the week; two maths pages (missing numbers and subtraction within 10) and a seasons quiz.  I have picked work that the children should be able to complete on their own although they may need some help reading the instructions and powerpoint.

ALSO CAN YOU PLEASE CHECK YOUR CHILD'S BAG TO SEE IF THEY HAVE AN EXTRA PAIR OF BLACK PE PUMPS AS A PAIR HAVE BEEN MISPLACED.  IF YOU DO FIND THEM, CAN YOU PLEASE RETURN THEM TO SCHOOL.  MANY THANKS.

Hello, I’m Miss Tomkins and I will be your child’s class teacher for the next year. I am looking forward to teaching your child/ren and helping them to grow both academically and socially. If you have any questions about your child, please come to see me to help me best support your child.

Homework in Year 1

All Homework will be handed out on a Thursday and it will be due back in every Monday. The main focus will be providing children with a range of activities, which develops what they have been learning.

Reading in Year 1

Children will continue to develop their reading skills through the teaching of phonics in class and with their own class reading book. We aim to change these books once a week and we would like you to listen to your child daily (where possible) to help build their confidence in this area. Please sign your child’s reading record every time you listen to them read and where necessary notify us with your comments. These can be very useful. You are also welcome to record comments about additional books your child has taken an interest in and we would also encourage you to continue to read books of interest to your child so that they can hear you reading too! Please can you make sure your child returns their book to school by the latest on Thursday so that we can send them home with their new book.

Physical Education in 1T

This will take place everMonday and Thursday. Please remember that this year, we will be expecting children to change for P.E lessons at school. Children should bring their P.E kit into school, with each item labelled with their name and class. These will be kept on their coat pegs and sent home to be washed at the end of each half term. Please ensure that earrings have been removed on this day. Children with long hair will also be expected to have this tied up.
