SEN

At St. Francis' Catholic Primary School our aim is for all children to reach their full potential. Whilst most children are able to do this through high quality class teaching and our usual curriculum, some children need additional support and are considered to have Special Educational Needs and or Disabilities (SEND).

This section of our website has lots of information that will help to explain Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Our school has an open-door policy and this means you are always welcome to make an appointment to speak to your child’s class teacher or Miss Manly, our SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator). Miss Manly can be contacted directly on 0121 464 5072 or at c.manly@stfranrc.bham.sch.uk

What are the four areas of need?

- Communication and interaction (C&I);

- Cognition and learning (C&L);

- Social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH);

- Sensory and/or physical needs.

What is the Local Offer/SEND Information Report?

All schools are expected to publish information about their provision for special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). This includes the 'Local Offer', which helps parents/carers to understand what services they and their families can expect from a range of local agencies. Birmingham’s Local Offer is available at

www.localofferbirmingham.co.uk

This provides parents and carers with information and services available in Birmingham.

St Francis’s SEND Information Report has been produced in consultation with the Local Authority and St. Francis’ parents.  Please have a look at our SEND Information Report, which explains in more detail the provision we make for our SEND pupils.
