Our approach to SEND
At St Francis' Catholic Primary School, our aim is for all children to reach their full potential. Most children achieve well through high-quality classroom teaching and our usual curriculum. Some children need additional support and may have special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
This section of our website explains SEND and the support available to children and families.
Worried about your child?
1. Speak to your child’s class teacher.
2. The teacher will listen, share what school has noticed and agree next steps with you.
3. If more help is needed, the teacher will involve our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo).
We have an open-door policy. You are always welcome to make an appointment to speak to your child's class teacher or Mrs Constantinou, our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo).

The four areas of need
A child may need support in one or more of these areas.
- Communication and interaction (C&I);
- Cognition and learning (C&L);
- Social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH);
- Sensory and/or physical needs.
The Local Offer and SEND Information Report
All schools must publish information about how they support pupils with special educational needs and disabilities. Our SEND Information Report explains the provision available at St Francis' Catholic School.
